Layer: Inundation March (ID: 3)

Name: Inundation March

Display Field: name

Type: Feature Layer

Geometry Type: esriGeometryPolygon

Description: Landsat multispectral bands were merged with the panchromatic band to create a 15 meter spatial resolution image for approximating areas of inundation from the Minute 319 pulse flow. Areas of 'open water' are primarily mapped. Flooded areas with vegetation are also approximated. Approximating flooded areas containing vegetation is interpretative as the vegetative component can 'mask' spectral response from water as a function of the type and percent cover of the vegetation. Water in narrow channels (i.e. pilot channels) were also approximated as these channels are smaller than the 15 meter pixel resoluton. Ancillary data such as field data and higher resolution imagery (when available) was used in aiding this interpretation.
