Name: Riparian Corn/Soybeans - Contiguous to Herbaceous
Display Field:
Type: Raster Layer
Geometry Type: null
Description: Corn/Soybean cropland in riparian zone (Area within 30 meters of flowing water), minimum size - 1 acre contiguous to an herbaceous cover patch at least 1 acre in size. Minimum field size of 5 acres used as input. "Herbaceous cover" = CDL 2013 Grassland/Pasture & Other Hay/Non-Alfalfa classes.
Name: Riparian Corn/Soybeans - Contiguous to Forest
Display Field:
Type: Raster Layer
Geometry Type: null
Description: Corn/Soybean cropland in riparian zone (Area within 30 meters of flowing water), minimum size - 1 acre contiguous to a forest patch at least 1 acre in size. Minimum field size of 5 acres used as input.
Description: Corn/Soybean cropland on marginal wet soils within riparian zone (Area within 30 meters of flowing water), minimum size - 1 acre. In this case a "wet soil" is a Gridded SSURGO mapunit where "pwsl1pomu" (Potential Wetland Landscape) is at least 60 or at least 50 and "drclassdcd" (Drainage Class - Dominant Condition) is poorly or very poorly drained. These mapunits represent those with the highest wetland potential based on these conservative criteria. Drainage class criteria were included to account for mapunit inconsistencies across county/state lines. A "marginal soil" is any area where the National Commodity Crop Productivity Index (Overall) value within a given field is less than 0.4. Minimum corn/soybean field size of 5 acres used as input. Derived from the intersection of "Corn/Soybeans on Marginal Soil" with "CornSoybeans on Wet Soil". CDL 2013/Gridded SSURGO 2014. Extent includes only the following HUC-4 basins: 0506, 0512, 0708, 0710, 0713.

Description: Contiguous Corn and Soybean (includes double-cropped classes e.g. "Dbl Crop Oats/Corn", Sweet Corn, Popcorn, and Ornamental Corn (2013 Cropland Data Layer)) areas at least 5 acres in size, with National Commodity Crop Productivity Index (Overall) values less than 0.4 within riparian zone (Area within 30 meters of flowing water). Extent includes only the following HUC-4 basins: 0506, 0512, 0708, 0710, 0713.
